Course Description

In this 1-day small-batch workshop, shooters will gain the theory behind Long Range Precision shooting and spend ample time applying those fundamentals, developing the framework and confidence for endless growth. Course Overview: - Classroom curriculum covering: Environment, Ballistics, Your Tools, You as the Shooter - Get hands-on instructions on Scope and Rifle set-up and adjustments - Build a solid shooting position - Zero at 100yds - Shoot groups and record data beyond 100yds - Use combinations of skills, tools, and trued data to shoot at distances from 300 to 1000yds on differing size and shaped targets What you will take home: - Your Zero'd Rifle/Scope set up to your fit - Notes on the Doak Development Framework - All-Weather DOPE book, provided for use during the course - Trued DOPE - Understanding of process for gathering DOPE for any rifle-ammo-environment combo - Photos of your experience shooting long range in the woods of the PNW Minimum Equipment List (What you'll need): - Bolt Action or AR platform Rifle intended for and capable of mid-long range use. Minimum caliber and barrel length: .223/5.56, 16" - Scope Must have a minimum of 8x magnification (16x or more preferred), adjustable turrets and a MIL or MOA reticle - 4DOF App pre-downloaded before arrival to class - 200 Rounds of match grade ammunition - At least 2 magazines (if not a fixed magazine rifle) - Bipod - must be adjustable - Rear Support Bag (Protektor Model "eared" bag preferred) - Laser Range Finder capable of ranging out to 1,000 yards minimum - Eye and Ear Protection - Admin: pens, sharpie, notebook - Boots and Clothing fit for inclement or changing weather in the PNW coastal range Recommended Packing List (not required): - Torque wrench and tools for mounting and adjusting your scope - Recoil-mitigating muzzle device such as a muzzle brake or suppressor - Ball-cap - Snacks and Water (Lunch Provided) - Hiking backpack (filled) for positional shooting - Dry bag with change of clothes and socks for end of the day if inclement weather occurs
